Rest, reflect, reconnect
H&S Healing Retreats offers Retreats, facilitated by the community, for those who have been affected by Domestic Violence.
It is an opportunity to heal with other survivors through individual Psychological support sessions, Trauma Yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, Green Therapy (bush walks and garden), Art Therapy, massage and group/individual healing circles, Soul Collage, Wellness Circle.
The residential retreat program includes a One Day, Weekend or Week long Retreat. The participants arrive at H&S Retreats on the day or Friday afternoon.
During the retreats, participants engage in a number of activities designed to encourage self awareness and self care.
Self care experiences are offered by professionals including Psychologists, Ayurveda (sister science to Yoga): consultation, cooking, massage, self massage, reiki, spiritual healings, hiking, bushwalks, reading, music, art and craft therapy.
The menu is vegan and focuses on nourishing, fresh, healing ingredients. “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”, Hippocrates, father of medicine.
There will be a balance between activity and rest. Rooms can be shared, with a shared bathroom or individual/couple with an en-suite.
Feel safe and face fears, evaluate and begin a journey in a loving and safe environment with Love and Light.
The retreat offers the opportunity to meet people with similar experiences, offering the opportunity to access community services available to them, develop strategies, improve their self-care/self-esteem and maximise their sense of wellbeing.
The H&S Care Healing Retreats are sponsored by H&S Care, a DGR (donor gift recipient) Charity. Participants are asked to make a contribution, which can be waived and supported by other DV Charities such as Be Kind Sydney, SAHSSI, the Eve Project and Orana, etc.
The participants are referred by these Agencies, working with government agencies, non-government, volunteers and member associations such as Probus, View Club, Lioness, Rotary, OWN, SAHSSI, the EVE project, the Yoga Foundation, etc.
